Truck crane KS-8973, rated capacity 100 tons, is mounted on special five-axle chassis, which provides traveling comfort on different roads. Total weight of crane in travel position - 60 t. (axle loads 5x12 t.), main boom extension, hook for loads up to 60 t. and 4.8 t. counterweight included. While traveling the second, third and fifth axles drive (the first one is blocked), the first and second axles are steered. In difficult road conditions the first axle drives and differential lockout is possible. While operating in restrained conditions the fourth and fifth axles are steered, that allows crab steer and smaller slew angle. Crane can be operated without counterweight, as well as with reduced outrigger base. Additional 15,2 t. counterweight (2 blocks at 7,6 t.) and hook for loads up to 100 t. are transported separately by another vehicles. Additional counterweight is mounted by crane itself without any assistance. For mounting crane should be installed on outriggers on a working site.
